🧡As part of World Patient Safety Day 2026, Victoria Hospital organized A Multidisciplinary NCD Patient Education Contest, bringing together 8 professional teams to address 8 different noncommunicable diseases. Each professional team presented how they would deliver Patient and Family Education for each noncommunicable disease from their own professional perspective, demonstrating the distinct role each discipline plays in supporting safe and effective patient care.

The contest focused on the information patients and families need to manage NCDs safely, including understanding the disease, treatment and medication, lifestyle modification, monitoring requirements, warning signs, and appropriate follow-up. By strengthening the quality and consistency of education delivered by different healthcare professionals, patients and families can become better informed and more actively involved in their own care.

💚As part of World Patient Safety Day 2026, Victoria Hospital also extended its patient safety efforts into the community through NCD screening, education, consultation, and follow-up support at Khayan Township, Yangon. Alongside this community initiative, the hospital strengthened patient safety internally through A Multidisciplinary NCD Patient Education Contest for healthcare professionals. These outcomes help reduce preventable harm and strengthen continuity of care, supporting the World Patient Safety Day 2026 theme, “Safe care for noncommunicable diseases,” and reflecting Victoria Hospital’s commitment to embedding patient safety throughout the NCD care journey.
