December 1 of every year is recognized and commemorated as World AIDS Day, with the aim of raising awareness and increasing knowledge about AIDS.

World AIDS Day is a meaningful day dedicated to preventing the spread of the disease, combating discrimination, and promoting accurate understanding and knowledge.

AIDS occurs when a person infected with the HIV virus does not receive treatment for a long period of time. AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is a condition in which the immune system is severely weakened. There is still no cure that can completely eliminate the virus, but the disease can be prevented when people understand how HIV is transmitted.

Ways HIV Can Be Transmitted:

♦️ Unprotected sexual contact with an infected person
♦️ Receiving contaminated blood
♦️ Sharing needles or injection equipment with an infected person
♦️ Transmission from an infected mother to her baby

HIV cannot be transmitted through:

💠 Handshakes
💠 Sharing food
💠 Hugging or kissing
💠 Insect bites
💠 Swimming together

On this year’s World AIDS Day, December 1, 2025, Victoria Hospital extends warm wishes for equal rights for all people living with HIV/AIDS, for better control of the spread of HIV/AIDS, and for everyone to enjoy a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life.
