Every year, November 18 to 24 is designated as βWorld Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week.β It is a global campaign aimed at raising awareness about the correct use of antimicrobial medicinesβincluding antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals, and antiparasiticsβand at combating the growing threat of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).
With the objective of helping the public understand and prevent the serious dangers of antimicrobial resistance, Victoria Hospital commemorated World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week by organizing an AMR awareness program, which included a World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week poster presentation competition. Award ceremonies were also held to recognize the winners.
For 2025, the official theme is
βAct Now, Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future.β
To ensure a healthier and happier future, let us take action now by increasing health awareness, using medicines responsibly, and working together to combat antimicrobial resistance.
